Are your products allergen free?
All our potato crisp products are allergen free., we perform annual testing to always confirm we’re maintaining this status and we work in with our suppliers to annually ensure there are no changes in ingredients.
We are also proud to meet the new allergen labelling laws in New Zealand and Australia!
What Oil do you use?
We are also pleased to announce that our High Oleic Sunflower Oil in selected Home Compostable bags is also now Cold Pressed and the sunflowers are grown and manufactured in Canterbury, New Zealand! As for High Oleic Sunflower Oil, (pronounced oh-lay-ick), it’s a type of sunflower oil that has a high concentration of the fatty acid – oleic acid – a monounsaturated fatty acid which is in rich supply in olive oil and macadamia nuts – the good fats! For oil to qualify as High Oleic, the Oleic Acid percentage needs to be over 80%… Ours is 83%! We use High Oleic Sunflower Oil because it is low in saturated fat, has no trans-fat and adds a golden, nutty-taste to our Proper Crisps. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why our Proper Potato & Vegetable Crisps have a 3.5 Health Star Rating!
Why are your Kumara Crisps different colours?
We work with the seasons, so you may only find Purple Dawn in your Winter packs of Proper Crisps. Isn’t nature neat?
Why is there Sugar in your Cider Vinegar Crisps?
The amount of sugar we add is so low, that it doesn’t even affect the nutritionals between this bag and our other flavours!
