Working with one of New Zealand’s iconic chefs is a privilege that the whole team at Proper is honoured to have experienced.
What started as an idea turned into a beautiful partnership to not only deliver two beloved sauces in crisp form but became a memorable moment for so many of the team as they got to meet the man himself and share the passion we have for our crisps with Al; a man who truly understands the joy of creating food for others.
Old Yella was born in the kitchen at Depot Eatery served with the skirt steak and quickly became sought-after by diners to be available to take home. This is a mustard you’ll find in most chef’s kitchens whether it’s on the menu or in the staff fridge. Adding a lick of Old Yella is a common occurrence amongst fellow foodies. A sweet American mustard flavour with a sneaky habanero sting in its tail for the mustard lovers out there.
Simply Red also started in the Depot kitchen. Originally served with Falafel and Yoghurt, the Indian relish notes work beautifully in the Kasundi Ketchup and now on a Proper Crisp. The tomatoey sweetness and aromatic spice blend is quickly becoming a favourite for many here at the Proper factory.
Good company and great food
At the end of the day; eating crisps is usually a bonus to spending time with friends and family. Snacking only gets better when it’s shared amongst loved ones.
Whilst we’ve thoroughly enjoyed developing new flavours to tickle your taste buds; we hope that you get to eat them with people that make your day better.
